He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward and Bena Steffen (Gudeman); his wife Allene Katherine Marti; and his siblings, Phyllis Zobrist, Ida Mae Rocke, Eldon, Ed, Marvin, Lyle and Willis.
He is survived by: his children, Rod Steffen (Beth) of Cissna Park, IL, Deonne Monfre (Tony) of Goodfield, IL, Dirk Steffen (Deb) of Goodfield, IL, Kim Steffen (Diane) of Hampshire, IL and Torry Steffen (Kelli) of Downs, IL; his brother Duane Steffen (Lois); and his grandchildren, Chalise, Gretchen, Brett, Justin, Quinn, Meika, Brooke, Clayton, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Cole, Connor, Jade, Brock, Sierra, Alexa, Asher, Elena, Rhett, Ella, Abe and August. He is also survived by 42 great-grandchildren.
