He was predeceased by: his father Larry G. Akers, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Monique Sanders (Dedonder); his wife Mary Sue Fritschle; his pet Tass; his children, Bradley Akers (Sandra) of Colorado Springs, Samantha Akers of Peoria and Gail Harrison (Raymond Colbert) of Hannibal; his stepchildren, Jennifer Lish (Brandon) of Liberty, Melissa Neisen (Alex) of Quincy, Michael Graff of Quincy and Jessica Seals (Benny Lefringhouse) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Axton, Joel, Hyliah, Alisabeth and Avery; and his siblings, Chris Akers of Payson, Brenda Lemke (Rich) of Parkville and Andrea "Miki" Ward (David) of Holt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
