He is survived by: his sons, Scott Shales of Golconda, Steve Shales of Rosiclare and Louis Shales, Jr. of Golconda; his grandchildren, Tabitha Hornback, Kaci Featherston (Josh), Zackery Shales, Trever Shales (Alice), Trenten Shales (Lydia) and Samantha Shales; his great grandchildren, Evan Hornback, Brodi Hornback, Arlo Shales, Ophelia Shales and Jensen Featherston; and his siblings, Crichton "Butch" Shales (Sharon), Jack Shales (Sue) and Patricia Matthews of Harvey, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.
