He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer L. Johnson and Verna Lea Johnson (Weaver); his sons, Ray "Beaver" Garrett, Steven Brady Garrett and Thomas Edward Garrett; and his siblings, Gregory Johnson and Shirley Wickers.
He is survived by: his wife Toni Bock; his children, Myrtle "Taffy" Ditzenberger (Dwaine) of Indiana, David Garrett of Godfrey, Spencer Garrett (Julie) of Piasa, Donald Garrett (Shelly) of Brighton, Francis Garrett (Chris) of Godfrey and Jack Garrett of Pickneyville; and his siblings, Mark Johnson of Alton, Brenda Hines (Delbert) of Kemper and Sandy Monroe of Alton. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
