With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laverne Bechtold of Godfrey, Illinois, who passed away on October 10, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bechtold and Mary Bechtold (Wendel); his wife Sharon Bechtold of Mary's Catholic Church; his daughter Dana Martinez; and his siblings, Edith Rathgeb, Marie Bregenzer, Catherine Estrada, Edward Bechtold, Leo Bechtold, Eleanor Smith and Helen Bechtold.
He is survived by: his son Michael Bechtold of Alton, IL; his grandchildren, Chris Bechtold, Corey Bechtold (Brittany), Abigail Martinez and Jennifer Martinez; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Sean, Lucas, Maverick and Levi; and his brother John "Bud" Bechtold (Eliane).
Memorials are suggested to the Crisis Food Center.
