He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley L. Hicks and Opal Ellen Hicks (Eaker); his mother-in-law Betty Jean Mansholt; his wife Betty; his brother Roland Hicks; and his brother-in-law Lynn Simburger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Dees (David) of Florissant, MO and Jennifer McGuire (Brandon) of Wood River, IL; his grandchildren, Harley David Dees, Presley Jean Dees and Kinsley Marie McGuire; his sister Phyllis Hicks; and his sisters-in-law, Cindi Lee, Evelyn Ambrose (Bill), Mary Ann Thompson (Tom) and Barbara Stumpf (Paul). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
