He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hughey and Bonnie Hughey. He is survived by: his wife Martha Hughey; his daughters, Jennifer Hughey (Mike Bergen) and Julie Elson (Jay Beard); his grandchildren, Abi Sholar (Carter Austin), Ellie Elson and Vivi Elson; and his great grandchildren, Sunny and Otto Austin.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home - Godfrey (1313 W Delmar Ave, Godfrey, IL 62035). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or The Disabled American Veterans Foundation (dav.org) in his honor.
