He was predeceased by: his mother Rosalie Poland; his aunts, Maxine Fishman and Margaret Layman; his uncle Reginald Dunaway; and his grandson Tyler Carter.
He is survived by: his sister Judy Christman; his wife Barbara; his children, Cindy Poland (Paul Ziemnisky), Terry Carter (Sharon) and Hodge Carter (Cindy Gampka); and his grandchildren, Kelsey, Jenna, Cara Ziemnisky, Evan, Taj Carter and Brick Carter (Megan). He is also survived by his family and friends.
He continued near daily trips to the gym until the pandemic closed the world in March 2020.
