He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Francis Scholly and Grace Scholly (Billheimer); his wife Ellen Scholly (Bird); his children, Kristen Scholly (Karl Bromwell) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Stuart Scholly (Linda) of Lake Forest, Illinois and Alison Scholly Summy (John) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Hannah, Josie, Kory, Bennett, Keean, Kendall, Cynthia and Kandace; and his brother Philip Scholly of Norwalk, CT. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
