He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Rau; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his sons, Frank Kastenholz (Patrice) and Jim Kastenholz (Jennifer Steans); his grandson Nick Kastenholz; his stepgrandchildren, Charlie Drew and Evie Fahey (Gabe); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Marlow, Saskia, Katahdin and Sequoia; his nieces, Debra Bonaparte (Tom) and Lori Winthrop; and his close friend Sissy Griffin.
With his children launched, he supported the I have a dream Program in Norwalk CT, and later the Bright Futures Foundation for employees of VI at the Glen in Glenview, IL.
