Gail was loved and cherished by many people including: husband John "Jack" Gilligan; children, Carol Gilligan (Matt Mattson), Timothy Gilligan (Gayle), Nancy Villano (Mike), Thomas Gilligan (Nicole Giangregorio), John Gilligan (John Shields) and James Gilligan (Fannie); and grandchildren, Erin, Kelly, Kathryn, Jordan, Meaghan and Benton. Gail was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
