He is survived by: his parents, Jacqueline Shaffer and Herbert Shaffer; his wife Wendy; his sisters, Jan Garcia (Nick) and Susan Shaffer; his nieces, Danielle Garcia (Pat Sarsfield), Rachel Garcia (Blaine Lakin) and Julia Reed; his uncle Myron Cholden (Harriet); and his nieces, Lilliana, Beatriz and Kai.
