She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Wakeley and Hazeldene Wakeley; her husband Morris E. Johnson; her brothers, Milo Wakeley and Harold Wakeley; her siblings-in-law, Russell Johnson, Dwight Austin, Jeanne Johnson, Dorothy Wakeley and Marian Wakeley; her nephew Christopher Austin; and her niece Betty Jo Bruhn.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Johnson (Greg Sultan), Gail Bernstein (Frank) and Barbara Hagemann (James); her grandchildren, Charles Rita, David Rita (Amy), Kristin Gardiner (Todd), Jeremy Bernstein (Alethea), Kurtis Hagemann (Ambrosia Stiles) and Melissa Mills (Chris); her great grandchildren, Emme Gardiner, Brianna, Nate Hagemann, Jace Bernstein, MacKenzie, Kendall and Quinton Mills; her siblings, Lucille Austin and Donald Wakeley (Kanya Nijima); and her sister-in-law Patricia Wakeley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's name to CASA of Kane County or Illinois 4H Foundation.
