He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Shannon and Lillian Shannon; and his siblings, Nancy McGrane, Sally Vlach, Harry, Richard and Tadd Shannon.

He is survived by: his wife Fern Shannon (Mangan). He is also survived by animals and his grand puppies.
