She is survived by: her husband James Otis Bates; her children, Michael James Bates (Teri Behrends), Suzan Jane Bates, Becky Christine Avers (James), Timothy James Bates (Joni Morken), Angela Marie Karesh (Michael) and Sara Jean Ruffer, Jr. (Kenneth); her grandchildren, Heather Bates, Denice Beltran (Juan), Brian Avers (Bailey Becker), Steven Avers (Camaryn Rogers), Thomas Avers (Amy Aton), Samuel Avers (Caitlin Moran), Ender, Jeffrey Bates, Emma Bates, Gregory Karesh (Lisa Stegmiller), Amy Schultz (Christopher), Kelly Binder (Gregory) and Alexandra Ruffer; her great grandchildren, Lucia and Alessandra Beltran; her grandchildren, Andi, Austin, John Olson, Eleanor, Easton, Maxwell Avers, Daegen Ashley and Caroline Schultz; her brothers, Merle Toby Theodore, Olson Jr. and John Christopher Olson (Marilyn Madalyn Warmick); her nephew Abram Olson; her nieces, Janet Smart (Charley) and Linda Wyman; and her former spouse Otie Bates.
