The memory of Shirley R. Knippenberg of Glen Carbon, Illinois, who passed away on February 27, 2025 at the age of 98, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, George P. Utter and Adele C. Utter; her brother George A. Utter; her sister-in-law Arline R. Utter; her husband Arnold K.; and her grandson Jonathan Colin Howard.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Knippenberg (Viji) of Denver, Craig Knippenberg (Lisa) of Denver, John Knippenberg (Janine) of Denver, Janet Howard (Jeff) of Bradenton and Lynn Lauber (Paul) of Collinsville, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Andrew Lauber (Rachel), Rachel Lauber, David Howard (Ashley), Megan Rojo Valdez, Emily Barnes (Chris), Alex Knippenberg and Lily Knippenberg; her great grandchildren, Diego, Valerie, Theodore, Rosemary, Evangeline, Lucy, Harper and Persephone; and her nephews, Daniel Utter (Mary Busse), Thomas Utter and Timothy Utter (Nancy Utter).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1300 Beltline Rd, Collinsville, IL 62234). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Sunset Hill Cemetery (50 Fountain Dr, Glen Carbon, IL 62034).
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Feed My People Food Pantry in St. Louis, MO.
