He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Johnson and Evelyn Johnson (Knight); and his granddaughter Angelica Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Erik Johnson (Cheryl) of Edwardsville, IL and Jennifer Steele (David Casso) of Glen Ellyn, IL; his sister Sue McCallan (Charlie) of Sedro-Wooley, WA; and his grandchildren, Liesel, Elias, Emil and Gabriella Johnson. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Little City Foundation of Palatine, IL (an organization for people with Down's syndrome and other developmental disabilities), Veterans of Foreign Wars, or any animal shelter.
