We are sad to announce that on March 29, 2025, at the age of 99, Mary E. File of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Vallee Ulmer and Dorothy Ulmer (Mills); her brother Edward Ulmer; and her husbands, Oliver File, Norval Critchfield and Merle File.

She is survived by: her children, David File (Dale) of Edwardsville, Julia Polk (Don) of Tyler, TX and Dorothy File of Glen Carbon, IL; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Polk (Rob) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Freeze (Trent) of Caddo Mills, TX, Diane Rodriguez (Luis) of Eminence, KY and John File (Allison) of Brownsburg, IN; her stepchild Pat Pendergrass of Madison, GA; her grandchildren, Paul Pendergrass, Pam Kunz and Paige Hill; her stepchild Dale Critchfield (Ruth) of Cheyenne, WY; her grandchildren, Kelly Miner, Karissa Bishop, Kris File of Moline, IL, Debi Fortin (Dave) of Moline, IL and Jon File of Moline, IL; and her great grandchildren, Derek Fortin, Sarah Thieme, David File and Christian File. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.

The family requests that any memorials be given to the First Baptist Church of Edwardsville.
