He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolfe Maxfield and Nellie Maxfield (Sanford); his wife Barbara Maxfield (Powell); his daughters, Christine Thomas and Darla Maxfield; and his brothers, Arnold and Norman Maxfield.
He is survived by: his children, Bernard R. (Janice Maxfield), Jody (Kaye Maxfield), Connie (Joseph O'Neill) and Carla (Pete Diamond); and his son-in-law Gary Thomas of Mt. Olive, Illinois. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.
