He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Erby and Eva Mae Erby (Norris); his spouse Jessie Eileen Lipsey; his daughter Eileen Jones; and his brother Eugene Erby.

He is survived by: his children, Dena Lantz (Kevin) of Chapin, SC, Terri Tibbetts (Aaron) of Chapin, SC and Spencer Erby (Rebecca) of Mapleton, IL; his grandchildren, Louie, Gabe, Reagan, Riley and Warner; and his sister Margaret Overholt (Don).

Memorials can be made to Glasford United Methodist Church or Illini Bluffs High School.
