He was predeceased by: his parents, Scharline Wheeler (Humphrey) and Hubert Wheeler; his wife Caryl Ann "Gerri" Wheeler; and his siblings, Wally Wheeler and Joyce Coe.
He is survived by: his children, Stacey D. Wheeler of Girard, IL, Paige D. Ruyle (Brad) of Springfield, IL, Alison D. Ausberry (James) of Harrisburg, PA, Morgan D. Wheeler (Travis Watret) of Girard, IL, Reagan D. Wheeler of Chicago, IL and Kyle D. Wheeler (Sonja) of Livingston, MT; his grandchildren, Olivia Watret, Vanessa Ausberry, Weston and Colton Ruyle; and his siblings, Mary Cummings of Springfield, IL, Barb White (Tom), Wanda Stucker, Kenneth Wheeler and Walt Wheeler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
