He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Brown and Mary Brown (Rooney); his wife Mary Lou Brown (Down); and his siblings, Agnes Katzmarek, Bill Brown, Norman Brown, Katherine Mikelson, Phil Brown and Mary Hartnell.

He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Ann Berry (Daniel) of Alton, IL, Lois Marie Boger (Richard) of Texarkana, AR and Susan "Susie" Kay Schardan (Sonny) of Gillespie, IL; his grandchildren, Eric Scott Boger of Texarkana, AR, Jason Allen Rivera of Alton, IL, Dr. Kaylan L. Schardan of Gillespie, IL, Jason Robert Schardan of Benld, IL and Jeremy Michael Schardan of Benld, IL; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lexi Schardan, Jack Schardan and Kristin Spery.
