He was predeceased by: his parents, John Halteman and Esther Halteman; his wife Norma Slightom; his son John Q Halteman; his granddaughter Jennifer Rebecca Davis; and his brothers, Carl, Hugh and Tom.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Matheson (Dave) of Springfield, Bob Halteman (Janice) of The Villages, FL, Perry Halteman (Kim) of Mt. Olive, Rita Kingery (Les) of Ward, AR, Nate Halteman (Vicki) of Carlinville and Mary Ann Drennan (Ron) of Springfield.
