She was predeceased by: her parents, John W Carter and Viola L. Fones Carter; her son John Louis Bartels; and her brothers, William J. Carter (Mary) and John G. Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Louis Bartels of Gillespie, IL; her children, Crystal Bartels (Michael Rekart) of Gillespie, IL and Louis "Buddy" Bartels (Danelle) of Mahomet, IL; her grandchildren, Viola Stangle, Jayden Stangle, Rafe Stangle, Kameron Bartels, Marinne Bartels and Estella Bartels; her sister Jean Sies of Staunton, IL; and her sister-in-law Nancy Carter.
