She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schlick and Mary Schlick (Klein); her husband John Berna; and her siblings, Edward, Loretta Herrmann, Martha Olsen and Irene Deihs. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

Memorial contributions in Marie's name may be directed to the SBC School or for masses.
