Richard Thies Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 10, 2021, at the age of 89, Richard Thies of Gibson City, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold C. Thies and Wilma P. Thies; his stepfather David C. Player; and his siblings-in-law, Craig R. Webber, Alice J. Webber and James L. Zaccagni.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Webber Thies; his siblings, Dr. David M. Player (Beth) and Jennifer G. Zaccagni; his brother-in-law Carl M. Webber (Betty); his children, David C. Thies (Johanna) of Champaign, IL, Nancy Thies Marshall (Charlie) of Salem, OR, Susan Thies Harrison (Mike), John E. Thies (Terry) of Urbana, IL and Anne Thies Peters (Jeff) of Sherwood, OR; his grandson Daniel; and also Gering. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Even as his health faded, were it not for the pandemic, he would no doubt have continued to regale audiences with his singing of As Time Goes By.
