He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry May and Fern Berkler May; his former wife Mildred Plackett; his spouse Beverly Huron; his children, Gene May (Shannon) of Paxton, Kimberly May (Gary Gilliam) of Rantoul and Terry May (Patricia) of Paxton; his grandchildren, Patrick May, Elizabeth May, Emily May-Grindle, Erin Brucker (Joe) and Heather Ward (James); his great grandchildren, Tyler Pichon, Dylan Glad, Allen May, Owen Tavenner, Arabella Grindle, Grey Grindle, Kylie VanHorn Brucker, Kaylee VanHorn, Kayana VanHorn, Logan Maze, Lucy Brucker and Jude Brucker; his siblings, Edward May of LaSalle and Dort Rutledge of Gibson City; his great grandchild Evan May; and his sister Lyla Schmall. He was also cherished by his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
