He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence C. Haukap of Germantown, IL and Frances B. Sturm of Templeton. He is survived by: his wife Janean; his sons, Nelson (Dana), Carter (Lara) and Wyatt (Lindsay) of Carroll; his siblings, Elizabeth Tharnish (John) and Larry Haukap of Carroll; his grandchildren, Eden Koolmees (Trevor), Maya Haukap, Truman Haukap, Daisy Haukap, Oscar Haukap, Everett Haukap and Rye Haukap; and his great grandchild Sawyer Koolmees.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Moose Lodge (200 E 5th St, Carroll, IA 51401).
