It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wayne Akerman of Germantown Hills, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on June 7, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony G. Akerman and Alice Akerman (Kneiss). He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Koehler of Germantown Hills; his children, Greg Akerman of East Peoria, Laura Coates (Brian) of Boulder, CO and Janice Durham (Michael) of Peoria; and his brothers, Paul Akerman of Rock Falls, IL and Max Akerman (Jane) of Wheaton, IL.. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association Central Illinois Chapter, 614 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.
