As John departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Welk and Theo G. Welk (Gray); his wife Darlene M. Hill; and his brothers, William "Bill" Welk and Clifford Welk.
He is survived by: his son John M. Welk, Jr. of Germantown Hills; and his sisters-in-law, Myra Young (Dale) of Brimfield, IL and Peggy Welk of Fairhope, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel (219 E Partridge St, Metamora, IL 61548). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 530 NE Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, IL 61637.
