He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Hicks and Hilda Hicks (Clancy); and his stepfather Bucky Weber. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Hoerr of Germantown Hills; his sons, Christopher Hicks of Topanga, CA and Matt Hicks (Liz) of Denver, CO; his granddaughter Rosalie Hicks; and his sister Pam Francis (Tom) of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
