With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Marjorie J. Denekas (German Valley, Illinois), born in Austinville, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Marjorie left this world on March 4, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob A. Schaap and Dora Jeanette Schaap (Roos); her husband Gerald K. Denekas; her son Steven Denekas; her parents-in-law, Marvin and Laura Denekas (Janssen); and her siblings-in-law, Warren Denekas, Hattiejane Denekas and Carol Denekas.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Denekas (Eileen), Marilyn Harrison (Stephen), Janis Merrill (Stephen), Rachel Richmond and David Denekas (Dawn); and her brother-in-law Harold Denekas. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Silver Creek Reformed Church (326 S Bunker Hill Rd, German Valley, IL 61039). A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established for the Silver Creek Reformed Church or German Valley Food Pantry.
