He was predeceased by: his parents, Wubba K. Smith (Bill) and Frederika Smith (Viel); his siblings, Bruno Smith, John, Kuhny, Bill, Henry, Paul, Harm, George, Frances, Rena, Grace, Alice and Jeannette; and his son-in-law Conrad Frehner.
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his daughters, Marna Renee Frehner of York, Susan Jay Simmons (Terry) of Burlington, Teresa Ellen Baumgatner (Todd) of Freeport and Ann Frances Schneider (Dave) of Rockford; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Smith and Bonnie Bangs. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mr. Smith's memory.
