With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Beatrice Poppen of German Valley, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Swalve and Clara Swalve; and her siblings, Esther Janssen (Swalve), Russell, Reynold, Wayne and Clarence Swalve.

She is survived by: her husband Gordon Poppen; her children, Ellen, Joel (Teresa) and Arlyn (Lori); her grandchildren, Keegan, Kylie, Alex and Chandler; and her great grandchild Eleanor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Silver Creek Reformed Church or Heifer International (http://www.heifer.org).
