He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Anna Boyd Gilliland; his wife Jackie Pate Gilliland; his siblings, Mabel Sacree (Laurence), Marilla Gilliland, Jim Gilliland (Mildred), Conrad 'Jimmy Gilliland, Gene Gilliland, Grace Davis (Ed), Mildred Rouse (Jim) and Audrey Baker (Robert); and his brothers-in-law, Joe Dow, William 'Bud C. Pate (Helen) and Robert L. Pate (Alma).
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Laurence Sacre; his former wife Jacqueline Pate; his sister Dorothy Dow of Memphis, TN; his children, Joan L. Ellis (Joel) of Enterprise, AL, Raymond E. Gilliland of Greenville, MI, Larry R. Gilliland (Cindy) of Georgetown, IL and Tom J. Gilliland of Rockwall, TX; his grandchildren, Jane Ann Bolin (Wesley) of Greenville, SC, Mark Wise (Allison Vandever) of Kansas City, MO, Curtis Ellis (Samantha) of Pace, FL, Jacob Ellis (Amanda) of Pelham, AL, Chad Gilliland (Michelle) of Aurora, IL, Lindsay Gross of Zionsville, IN, Ryan Frohock (Lindsay) of St. Augustine, FL, Teresa Gilliland of Rockwall, TX and Alan Gilliland of Rockwall, TX; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Ethan, Eleanor, Tori, Harrison, Sean, Seth, Tyler, Carter, J. P., Waylon, Gatlin, Walker, Landon and Alaina. He is also survived by 10 children.
