He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; and his siblings, Dorothy (Richard Heldt) and Earl Dean. He is survived by: his son Gerald Dean (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Amanda Freeman (Nicholas), Paul Dean (Shireen), Dwight Dean and Thomas Dean (Casey); his children, Father Kenneth Dean and Susan Messing (Frank); his grandchildren, Jacinta Messing, Rose Messing, Martina Crookston (Stephen), Joseph Messing and Elizabeth Messing; his son Doug Dean (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Anna Dean, Elena Dean, Celine Dean, Luke Dean, Xavier Dean, Isabella Dean, Genevieve Dean, Ignatius Dean, Joseph Dean, Zachary Dean and Toby Dean; his great grandchildren, William Freeman, Emma Freeman, Olivia Crookston and Matthew Crookston; his brother Harold Dean (Joyce); and his sister-in-law Dorothy Dean.
