With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Neil Olson of Genoa, Illinois, born in Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on October 28, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Olson and Jennie Olson (Carlstrom); his brothers, Melvin and Lavern Olson; and his former wife Joellyn.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Ruth Strociek (Darrell), Brenda Moline and Scott Olson; his stepchildren, Angela Wood Almazan (Jaime), Cindy Bergman (Tim), Pamela Wood, Tina Drendel (Dennis), Brandon Olson (Kim) and Kevin Olson; his grandchildren, Alec Strociek, Jake, Molly Moline, Mitchell Eraas, Marina O'Donnell (Josh), Patric Bergman (Daria), Andrea Bergman (Ronnie Glass), Hannah Bergman, Samantha Wood (Austin Black), Eric Wood (Alexis Chucka), Adam Wood, Ethan Wood, Jessica Drendel, Anna Drendel, Deloris Drendel, Felicia Olson, Cassandra Olson and Brandon Olson, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Oliver, Madilyn and Krislynn; and his sister Shirley Zars.
In accordance with the IDPH- facial coverings, social distancing and a limit of 10 guests indoors at one time will be enforced.
