He is survived by: his sister Connie Avila; his children, Michael, Steven (Daria), Denise Metzger (Carl) and Andrea Avila (Daniel Hickey); his grandchildren, Kenneth Trent (Tara), Vanessa, Sarah Culver (Tony), Stephanie Perez (Ariel), David Avila (Lindsay), Michelle Avila and Nicole Trent; his great grandchildren, Miabella, Amara, Ava, Tinker Bell, Donovan, Cameron, Evelyn, Violetta, Alejandro, Romeo, Sophia, Ayven, Zane and Eva; his friend Angel Semprit; and his significant other Jarlath Flaws Avila (Flaws).
