He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Troy Langeness (Peggy), Todd Langeness (Meg) and Amy McLaughlin (Mike); his grandchildren, Bobby, Jimmy Langeness, Josie, Bo Langeness, Patrick McLaughlin, Marine Sergeant Danny McLaughlin, Marine Sergeant Matthew McLaughlin and Navy Airman Thomas McLaughlin; his great grandchild Daniel McLaughlin; and his sister Pat Pappalardo (Langeness).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Robert's name.
