It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Mayer of Geneva, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Mayer to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Slaymaker and Josephine Slaymaker (Parker); her son Tom; her nephew Jim Cross; and her siblings, Robert B. Slaymaker, Betty Jo Cross and James Mayer.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Abernethy (Scott) of West Chicago, Andrew Mayer (Lillian) of Geneva and Amy Mayer (Davin Wickstrom) of Geneva; her daughter-in-law Cynthia Mayer of Glen Ellyn; her grandchildren, Ben Popovich (Heidi), Carolyn Oldham (Jeff), Jake Abernethy, Kelly Berardi (Peter), Alexander Mayer and Nathaniel Wickstrom; her great grandchildren, Ellie, Noah, Henry Oldham and Emma Popovich; her sister-in-law Betty Slaymaker; and her nieces, Charlene Cross, Jane Hunn (Jeff), Dana Sharer (Steve), Susan Steckel (Bob) and Nancy Smith (Steve). She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Due to Covid-19, services will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Drive #1544, Geneva, IL 60134 where she was member for over 60 years.
