He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Venneri and Mary Venneri (Vinci); his wife Mary Jeanne; his children, Mary Zahner, James Venneri (Diane) and Margaret Venneri; his grandchildren, Edward J. Zahner, Thomas Zahner, John Edward Venneri and Laura Venneri; his sister Emily Hurley; and his son-in-law Zane Zahner.

John was always looking for ways to give back through charity, teachings, and social services as a religious man he became involved in The Third Order of St Francis.
