It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald E. Thompson of Geneva, Illinois, born in Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Homer and Margaret Thompson (Casey); his brother William Thompson; and his granddaughter Margaret Thompson Hoepfner. He is survived by: his wife Doris Schwendeman of Chicago; his sister Margie; his nieces and nephews, Patricia Schreiber of Wheaton, James (Patricia) of Campton Hills, Diane Marek (Andrew) of Geneva, Judith Emery (Tom) of Texas, Daniel (Amy) of Mundelein and Andrew (Julianne) of Connecticut; and his grandchildren, Bryan Olver (Emma), Nathan Olver, Kayla Reagan (Corey), Anna Schreiber (Ben Gasper), Melinda Schreiber, Jacob Thompson (Mia), William Thompson, Joseph Marek (Melinda), Daniel Marek (Shelbie), Peter Marek (Skylar), Paul Marek (Kendall), Jack Marek, Matthew Emery (Jennifer), Sarah Duvall (Mark), Kathryn Emery, Nicole Castagnola (Joseph), Lauren Meyer (Harry), Caroline Schluter (Cole), Andrew Thompson, Michael, Ella and Ryan Thompson. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
