He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Spitler and Lillian Spitler (Reidl). He is survived by: his spouse Meredith (Anderson); his children, Jeffrey (Melody) of Stillwater, OK, Douglas (Heather) of Naperville and Julie Backode (Robert) of Naperville; his grandchildren, Sarah Schrader (Daniel), David, Rachel, Christine Spitler, Kaitlyn Horst (Nick), Hannah Spitler, Lauren Spitler, Mollie Backode, Rebekah Bartel (Caleb), Hayley Spitler, Emily Backode, Amanda Backode, Susanna, Jonathan and Logan Spitler; his great grandchildren, Phoebe Schrader and Amelia Horst; and his sister Joan Allison of Cookeville, Tennessee. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
