She was predeceased by: her parents, Alloyisous "Ollie" Vandemore and Margaret Vandemore (Andrews); her husband James R. "Jamie" Wachtel; her daughter Nancy Sue Wachtel; her daughter-in-law Alana Wachtel; her brothers, Mark and Jim Vandemore; and her brother-in-law Glenn Gustafson.
She is survived by: her sons, Dr. Thomas Wachtel of Geneseo, IL, Robert Wachtel (Mary) of Geneseo, IL, Michael Wachtel (Becky) of Lecona, IA, Timothy Wachtel (Mona) of Keithville, LA and Jeffery Wachtel (Sandra) of Hilton Head, SC; her siblings, Bill Vandemore (Marilyn) of Chesterfield, MO, Mary Gustafson of Geneseo, IL and Cathy Clancy (Bill) of Geneva, IL; and her sister-in-law Sue Ann Vandemore of Geneseo, IL. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Vandemore Funeral Home - Geneseo (580 E Ogden Ave, Geneseo, IL 61254). Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Malachy Catholic Church (595 E Ogden Ave, Geneseo, IL 61254).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Malachy Paraclete Fund, Henry County Right to Life, Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry, or Hammond Henry Hospital Long Term Care.
