He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick F. Gerhardt and Bessie M. Henninger Gerhardt; his wife Ruth Johnson; his children, Ben Gerhardt (Meredith) of Henderson, NV and Lisa Gerhardt of Davenport, IA; his stepchildren, Sara Newsom (Nicoli) of Oklahoma City, OK, Becky Johnson Souza (Jeoval), Brazil and Ben Johnson (Kelita) of Morrison, IL; his grandchildren, Rylin, Konnelly Gerhardt, Brenyn, Malachi, Asher, Aviah Newsom, Hineni Souza, Zander, Selah, Haven and Thaddeus Johnson; and his siblings, Barbara Searle (Rodney) and Jim Gerhardt (Pat).
