Stephen W. Andrews Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stephen W. Andrews of Geneseo, Illinois, who passed away on May 29, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Stephen may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Stephen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Andrews and Ione Andrews (Stephens); and his brother-in-law Tom Wyffels. He is survived by: his partner Jon Carley; and his siblings, Pam Ristau (Pat), Sara Dillender (Larry), Ronald Andrews (Gail) and Glenna Wyffels. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

“We were so sorry to hear of Steve's passing this morning via a neighborhood email. Steve was one of the early residents that helped bring back Davenport's Gold Coast/Hamburg Historic District from its semi-abandoned state several decades ago. He, and then also Jon, were our kind and friendly neighbors until their move to Geneseo. Our hearts go out to Jon and the rest of his family. Steve was adored by many and will remain lovingly in our thoughts. Jack Haberman and Marion Meginnis”
