He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ramon Chavez and Loretta Chavez (Plasschaert); his wife Margaret Nelson; his children, Michael Chavez Jr. (Mercy) and Meredith Holt (Andrew); his grandchildren, Georgina Schmidt, Mannheim, Germany, Kenny Chavez, Galesburg, Justine Chavez, April Kelley, Geneseo and Isabella Chavez; his great grandchildren, Jadyn, Mannheim, Germany and Liam; and his sisters, Linda Mapes (Roger), Cambridge, Toni Hunter (Barry) and Davenport.
