With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merry Jean Gernant of Geneseo, Illinois, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on August 4, 2022 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Norman Hoogerwerf; and her brother Alan Hoogerwerf. She is survived by: her mother Betty Hoogerwerf (Lent) of Geneseo; her husband Butch Gernant of Geneseo; her sons, Bill (Misha) of Cambridge and Shawn (Sandra) of Hoschen, GA; her brother David Hoogerwerf (Betty) of Snohomish, WA; and her grandchildren, Harrison Gernant (Jennifer), Joshua Moody (Elizabeth), Stephan Gernant (Kari), Samantha Moody and Hannah Moody. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Merry Gernant Memorial Fund.
