It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ann Girten of Geneseo, Illinois, who passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard E. Rice and Evelyn E. Rice (Armstrong); her husband Francis "Gene" Girten; her brother William Rice; and her siblings-in-law, Roy Holmstrom and Ann Rice.

She is survived by: her sons, Damian (Melissa) of DeForest, WI and William (Tricia) of Geneseo, IL; her stepdaughters, Tanya Pettit (Wade) of Fox Island, WA and Mindy Girten (Mary Cantlin) of Grantham, NH; her grandchildren, Connor (Whitley), Bryson, Bennett, Hunter (Callie), Anna Cate, Grace Lee and Caroline Page; her siblings, Richard Rice of Carbon Cliff, IL, Larry Rice (Karen) of Geneseo, IL and Sandra Holmstrom of Geneseo, IL; her sister-in-law Karen Rice; and her stepsiblings, Hank Smeltzer (Jan) of Geneseo, IL, Phillip Smeltzer (Emily), Mary Ann Moffitt (Terry) and Margaret Radue (Max). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
