With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Marie Claerhout of Geneseo, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Dewaele and Josephine Dewaele (Leenknecht); her granddaughter Ashley Claerhout; and her sister Darlene Forslund. She is survived by: her husband Bob of Geneseo; her children, Jeff of Stanton, CA, Chris Hamblen (Roderick) of Cary, IL., Michael (Abbey) of Midland, MI and Mark (Jaci) of Geneseo, IL; her grandchildren, Lauren Hamblen, Morgan, Greyson Claerhout, Aria, Ava and Audrey Claerhout; and her siblings, Frank J. Dewaele (Theresa) of Rock Island, IL and Lois Veroven (Wil) of Rock Island, IL..

Memorials may be directed to ARC of the Quad Cities, St. Malachy Catholic Church, or Ohl Strong Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
